Celia is the instructor in a parenting class in which Ray and Debra attend. The class is called "Parent Effectiveness Training. Coping with your child's behavioral challenges."
She teaches them about "active listening", which means they have to encourage their child to express themselves verbally...without influencing him or her with their own preconceived notions or opinions. This is demonstrated when Ray is chosen to role-play a situation with Celia.
