Synopsis[]
For school, Ally has to do a report on her oldest living relative. Frank mentions that there's still some of his family left in Italy. So, using his resources, Ray tracks down Sarina in Sicily and they send her a letter.
Three weeks later, Sarina arrives at their door.
Together, the whole family has a great time with Sarina visiting. Everyone's happy, until they find out that Sarina isn't actually related to them.
Running Gags[]
- Frank's catchphrase "Holy crap" is spoken, but not by him. Sarina is the one who says it.
- Uncle Mel mentions, as he always does, that even though he's not married, he's not gay either.
Trivia[]
- This is only one of the very few times that Frank's father (Ray and Robert's grandfather) is mentioned.
- Ray mentions his "Sportswriter of the Year" Award, but it's unclear whether or not he's referring to the award he received in the Season 1 episode "Recovering Pessimist".
Production Notes[]
- In today's reruns, Guest Star Stella Farentino is incorrectly credited as Stella Farentiino.
- Property Master Rhonda Schenider's credit in original airings gets stretched.
Quotes[]
- Uncle Mel: "And just because I was never married doesn't mean I'm gay."
