Synopsis[]
After another Sunday morning at church, the family comes into Frank and Marie’s house. The women all go into the kitchen to help make a post-church feast. A mysterious stranger knocks on the door—a middle-aged man asking to see Frank Barone. The man claims he used to know Frank some thirty years when the two worked at the office. The man introduces himself as Sammy Galula, an intern who was inspired by Frank. All this sounds spectacularly unlike Frank. Ray and Robert are quite skeptical, having known Frank all their lives. Debra, Marie and Amy are all skeptical too. Amy and Debra facetiously speculate that Sammy could be Frank’s long-lost son. Marie takes this very seriously and confronts Frank on it. Ray and Robert laugh and make jokes at the idea of Frank being inspiring or nurturing in any way, shape or form.
One night in bed, Debra picks up on Ray's resentment while he’s reading a Golf Magazine. Ray remarks that Frank wasn’t the inspiring, nurturing, paternal figure to him—not ever. Debra sympathetically offers Ray sex. We hear Robert is equally furious.
When Sammy comes over to announce he can't go to the Lodge with Frank as the upcoming Office Supply Bin store is literally plagued with problems and he may have to just shut the whole thing down completely. Everyone is sympathetic, even Robert. Frank starts being his usual harsh self and while everyone else starts to object, Sammy becomes inspired. It turns out he was no different to Sammy than he was to Ray and Robert. Everyone else is speechless, but Sammy thanks Frank for doing what he has always does for him. Ray and Robert go to accompany Frank to the lodge after all. Marie once again insults Debra's cooking. Amy emulates Frank's harsh demeanor. Debra stares at her blankly and remarks, "You really are queer".
