Synopsis[]
When Debra's mother Lois comes for a visit, Debra realizes she's not the same type of mother as Marie. And when she mentions that, the tension grows between her and her mother.
Running Gags[]
- Debra makes lemon chicken in this episode, and it's criticized by the other characters.
- As with many appearances by Lois, Ray has trouble calling her by her name. And Robert is really weirded out by her. As he says in the episode, Lois gives him "the willies".
Trivia[]
- Debra's father (and Lois' husband) Warren is mentioned but never actually seen in the episode.
Production Notes[]
- By production order, this is the sixth episode of the third season.
- The Production Staff credits squish a bit.
- This episode features a held-back lunch from the first season in original airings, hence the later version of the 1996 Where's Lunch? logo, which also happened in the Season 2 episode, Traffic School. Today's reruns feature the later version of the 1996 logo too, but the dish is replaced with an alternate version of the dish from Why Are We Here?. In this version, a different angle of the dish is used, and a grain of rice moves. The logo and spoon are more centered, and the dish doesn't cover the logo entirely unlike the first version.
Quotes[]
- Ray: (hoping she'll appear) "Xena: Warrior Princess. Xena: Warrior Princess."
- Lois: (regarding Debra's dinner) "It smells wonderful."
- Ray: "That was me. I burped."
- Robert: (after Marie finds him eating her cake) "It was Raymond. I tried to stop him."
